Compared these to many other brands and models with a variety of music styles, orchestra through modern popular music and chose these. As a professional sound engineer these will assist me at work and give me pleasure when listening for pleasure.

If you are looking for closed back headphones because you need to keep your music to yourself or the noise around you away from your music, then I would HIGHLY recommend these cans. These are quite likely the best closed style headphones I've listened to (ranging from Senn 280Pro, Sony MDR-V6, Beyer 770, and various others too crappy to even mention...yes Bose I consider you in the later group). Bass can be a bit boomy, but may just appeal to popular tastes. Very accurate sound, if a little bright but a real pleasure to wear for extended time. Ultrasone has a real winner in its hands (and my head)!
I compared, listened, and measured (Room EQ Wizard ver. 5.1, home arranged artificial ear tool) under the same conditions my Ultrasone HFI-580 and my AKG K240 DH (professional) headphones. See the attached measuring diagram. Ultrasone (blue curve) are very exciting, less linear, but really enjoyable headphones, while AKG (red curve) are more linear, and more neutral. Ultrasone are ideal for my son (student), AKG are more appropriate for me (acoustic engineer).

I work in A/V and was recommended these headphones by a co-worker. I was skeptical that at this price they would be of sufficient quality but was pleasantly surprised at how good they really are. Totally happy. Thank you.

These are by far better than any "beats" phones I`ve used for their "natural response" ,...you`ll want to mix with on,...
