this is a great item and I love it! its loud enough to be heard or it can be turned off or down. its bright too and easy to use. i would give it 5 stars but it has my home address wrong. what the. . . .

I bought this item last year and used more than 20-times, very bad experience with this device. The worst issue is that it takes more than 5 times to connect to satellite; I have to stop at parking lot and waste my time. 1. it always takes several more than 5 minutes to connect to satellite (worst issue!!) 2. software crash when I changed the speaking language to Chinese or Japanese 3. battery die so fast, battery should keep 4-hour but it died about two-hours.

Operates totally different from other Nuvis I have, Took a few days to figure out. A decent Owner's Manual would have been helpful. I don't like that you have to enter a COMPLETE address; House Number, Complete Street name, City, AND state (in that order). Then hope it finds it. Too many steps.

I tried to find a new version of Garmin or even any GPS as my old one could not find satellite. None of them are ideal to use. So this model becomes the only one for my choice. This Garmin works to 85% degree, but is not stable, sometimes it forgot where we go so it made me lost in nowhere. It is not very easy to search (becomes stupid) an address as the old version of Garmin. Each time you go to place it asks you to start everything again to have to push botton many times. It makes you become its slave. Many utility choices are not easy friendly to execute, you don't feel comfortable. I miss my old Garmin.

This unit is all that I hoped it would be. As soon as I received it, I registered it and updated the software and maps. My wife and I were headed on a 3000 mile road trip and this was just what we needed. It's particularly useful when you get into busy traffic and you don't have a chance to watch for, or read all the signs. It keeps you aware of the speed limits and which lanes to be in. Once you get where you're going, it will even find you dinner. Great unit.
