A very smooth and clear amplifier module. Great Value.
This amplifier module is based around the Texas Instruments TPA3255 class D amplifier chip. These chips use advanced circuit designs which resemble the innovations first patented by Bang and Olufsen and used in their IcePower amp range. The Texas Instrument chips in this advanced range use Texas Instrument design innovations, and are advanced devices. The TI data sheet available on the net explains the advantages of these chips. TI states: "It features an advanced integrated feedback design and proprietary high-speed gate driver error correction (PurePath™ Ultra-HD). This technology allows ultra low distortion across the audio band and superior audio quality." Texas Instruments sells a fully assembled evaluation amp module using this chip. These modules are ex USA and are quite expensive. I have previously bought a cheap pre built complete amp with the TPA3255 chip and was impressed. I wondered though if ex China I could buy a module which was similar in its use of quality components as the branded TI module. So I bought this one from laserworld2014 in China. I must say I am extremely happy with this module. It does indeed sound very very good. I highly recommend this amplifier module. You need to buy a 48 volt power adapter for it, a case and solder up inputs etc. It is an excellent hobby project. Compared to the IcePower amp module I bought earlier, this module has a more even sound and is less bass prominent. This is very good for watching movies. The dialogue is extremely clear and clean and easy to understand. The IcePower amp is better for rock and roll music etc in my opinion. This is a very good amp and the people in China who chose the components to include in this module have done an extremely good job. It is much cheaper than the branded TI amp module yet it sounds so good it is a great bargain. I thank the people in China who have made this available on ebay. Well done.
