Synopsis
Anti-Terrorist Task Force agent John Corey and his wife, FBI agent Kate Mayfield, have been posted overseas to Sana'a, Yemen-one of the most dangerous places in the Middle East. While there, they will be working with a small team to track down one of the masterminds behind the USS Cole bombing: a high-ranking Al Qaeda operative known as The Panther. Ruthless and elusive, he's wanted for multiple terrorist acts and murders-and the U.S. government is determined to bring him down, no matter the cost. As latecomers to a deadly game, John and Kate don't know the rules, the players, or the score. What they do know is that there is more to their assignment than meets the eye-and that the hunters are about to become the hunted. Filled with breathtaking plot turns and told in John Corey's inimitable voice, The Panther is a brilliant depiction of one of the most treacherous countries in the world and raises disturbing questions about whether we can ever know who our enemies - or our allies - really are., Anti-Terrorist Task Force agent John Corey and his wife, FBI agent Kate Mayfield, have been posted overseas to Sana'a, Yemen-one of the most dangerous places in the Middle East. I am very happy with my purchase. My books were packaged very well and arrived in a timely manner. The seller made sure to carefully package them in way that they arrived in very good condition as described in the listing. The price was good and so was shipping cost. My purchase was definitely worth it. I highly recommend purchasing from this seller.

This was a largely positive experience. The item (a used book) was exactly as pictured, with no damage at all, and I love owning it. Interaction with the seller was flawless, and the book arrived quickly. I have one tiny nit involving the description of the item (it said DJ for dust jacket, and didn't include one). But I was able to surmise the absence of a jacket from the photo, so I assume this was an oversight. I'm happy with the overall transaction, would do business with this seller again

    John Corey is Addictive!

Wow, I just love Nelson DeMille's character, John Corey ... starting with "Plum Island", I like reading them in order. This is one of the latest John Corey novels, and they are ALL good, in my opinion. What I like most is his sense of humor ... John Corey is brash, irreverent, and usually says things at which you cringe ... but he's also very smart and he thinks like a bad guy, so he usually wins at what he does. This novel is all about John, former NYPD detective, now with the Anti-terrorist Task Force, and his FBI-agent-wife, Kate Mayfield, who get assigned to the dangerous city of Yemen, to track down the Panther, an Al-Qaeda operative of high rank, who is apparently the mastermind of the bombing of the USS Cole. The story weaves in and out of adventure and blood-curdling danger, ...

  • Superb book!

One of my favorite John Corey books by DeMille and it takes place in Yemen. So much to learn from this novel and it's exciting and LONG and yet goes fast. The action is constant and it teaches and startles as it moves along. It's an amazing and excellent book.
