Texte rédigé par Dominique Bouhours, qui était un bel esprit du XVIIe siècle. Jésuite, il fréquentait les Gens du Monde les plus distingués. En fait de 'Pensées ingénieuses sur les Anciens et les Modernes', il s'agit d'une querelle célèbre lancée par PERRAULT, qui pense que le siècle de Louis XIV est idéal, même par rapport à l'antiquité. Les anciens représentés par Boileau et Racine, pense que l'antiquité était la bonne période, par rapport à la période de Louis XIV : un peu le paradis perdu… Bon état.”
