    The cable was chunkier and stiffer than I expected. After cracking it open it's easy to see why. The four signal conductors are stranded wire, but the drain wire is a single solid conductor of a much heavier gauge. That's not a bad thing, but it makes the cable stiffer than you might expect, and increased the diameter. That could matter if you are trying to fit this into a skinny connector shell. Also, these are not two twisted pairs. All four pairs are wrapped around each other.
