Secret Weapons Over Normandy features 20 authentic World War II aircraft in a series of 30 air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. Inspired by LucasArts' original Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe, released in 1991 for computers, players become members of an ace squadron that is given the most harrowing assignments in the war. Players will engage in 15 combat theaters, taking them from Europe and the Eastern Front to North Africa, China-Burma-India, and the Pacific. Developer Totally Games draws from its experience in creating the popular Star Wars: X-Wing series for this project, offering a similar structure of cinematic storytelling, notable characters, and intense dogfights and bombing runs.<br><br>The action takes place over a period of four years, where players will become active participants in such infamous battles as the Evacuation of Dunkirk, the Battle of Britain, Operation Sea Lion, Battle of Midway, and the D-Day invasion. Flyable aircraft includes the P-38 Lightning, the P-51 Mustang, the Me 163 Komet, the Me 262, and the B-17 Flying Fortress. To further draw players into the game, sound effects were re-created using actual field recordings of aircraft flown during the time period. Voice acting is performed by Will Lyman, narrator of the PBS television series Frontline, and international film star Mako, who provides the game's Japanese Imperial dialect. Rounding out the list of features is the ability to enlist a friend, for cooperative play or for competitive dueling, in a variety of multiplayer modes.

Graphics are appropriate for an old PS2 game, inherently poor by today's standard but good for the time. game play is good. Can use campaign mode and extra challenges for more points toward plane modifications. Enjoy!

What a Flight Simulator!!!!
Move over Ace Combat, there's another big boy in town that stomps your pathetic siumlator to dust! Secret Weapons Over Normandy I got because I love to fly. I have a pilot's license and love air shows and any flight simulators I can get my hands on, and if you like the era of WWII or ever wanted to shoot down German planes, this is the game for you!! I never thought the graphics would be as good as it is in this game and it offers it all when it comes to flying; you fly, at first, a British plane as an American Officer flying with the Brits, and eventually, as you get better, you progress into different planes and harder missions like going behind the enemy lines and actually flying the German Luftwaffe you had been shooting down!! And that's just the 3rd Mission, so the more you get ... Move over Ace Combat, there's another big boy in town that stomps your pathetic siumlator to dust! All hail secret weapons over normandy! This is a A+ quality game that keeps you entertained. Like Medal of Honor for the skies, the gameplay is great, the progression of the missions, the increasing difficulties of the enemies and the high standards to achieve special upgrades keeps you busy. You get sucked in by the story and I found it quite hard to put down the controller, even after 8 hours in front of the console. The A.I. is fantastic, quite unpredictable, but the nice part is that your planes awarded increase in handling and capabilities, while the enemy planes stay relatively the same. The game remedies this by introducing new enemy pilots and planes to increase the difficulty. This game lets you fly in some of the most pivotal air missions of WWII (Midway, German Bombing ... All hail secret weapons over normandy! This is a A+ quality game that keeps you entertained. This game rocks!
If you're into war games or airplane games, this is for you. There's probably a good 25-30 missions altogether and aroung 15 different planes from the Spitfire(equipped with 4 machine guns!) to the Mosquito(a heavy duty airplane that will whoop the enemies). This is game is very very realistic, you can watch how they made the game and everything. Airplanes were designed to their real models, and there's multiple upgrades you can add such as more armor, engine upgrade for speed, better handling for your plane, and probably a dozen or so ammo upgrades from rockets to heavy cannons and torpedos. Be prepared to shoot everything from AA guns and tanks to ships, planes, and huge hangars. This game is a thrill, and it has a pretty good plot, you and some Brittish and American pilots defending ... If you're into war games or airplane games, this is for you. A lot of fun. My kids and I chase each other over Normandy trying to shoot the other down! Graphics are good too, for an older game. I got a great value on it, as it was hard to find in even used stores around town. I bought it with no instructions, but you can get yours on the internet I'm sure. If you like flight simulators and air combat games, this is a good combination of both - yet simple to use and have fun!A lot of fun.
