These lockback Scout Knife/Compact Scout combo is incredibly lightweight due to the rubber handle and durable carbon stainless drop point blade. As a former backpacker/section hiker of The Appalachian Trail (New Jersey - Vermont 1999) Weight is everything and these knives would have been ideal for that trip. Included "Bear's pocket size survival essentials". Knowledge doesn't weigh anything and could save you life in a perilous situation! For everyday use I personally prefer a little more weight to my pocket knife, a liner lock, assisted opening feature and a seat-belt cutter with glass punch. We all drive vehicles, I always carry a pocket knife; thankfully I haven't had to use either of the last said features but in event of an automotive accident you may find you need to break out ... Best $20 I have ever owned
The best $20 knife ever owned I've had 3 and are only replaced because I lose them will last very long time serrations of course wear out but continue to serve a function for years to come tight when you first get it but will soon we're in but will never loosen up
