    I really needed controls for an older type Mariner (Yamaha) outboard. I noticed that on the control box side the GEN1 / MERCURY / MERCRUISER / UNIVERSAL / Outboard Inboard Throttle Shift Control Cables were the right ones. on the engine side all I had to do is drill out the eyelet holes to 7mm and the cables fitted perfectly. A good and much cheaper solution than buying authentic cables, which are now way over priced.
