I had the ones that I thought were chrome. Who I talked to about them fading and discoloring. Explained what was happening to them.And replaced them after they had been on there for quite awhile. Although I prefer chrome. The white really stands out against the black of the bed rails. Hard plastic. There is a film on both sides that has to be removed. For awhile I thought that there was printing on the plastic itself on the face up side.
