The HC5 has a charging case, and was much more useful with its minimal modes (low, high) . I believe the more modes a lamp has, the more time wasted on work having the click through modes. Cannot find the HC5 anywhere so have to settle for this mid HC3.

The fact that I bought four of these hat lamps should indicate how much I use them and love them. Excellent product!!!!!!

The battery life, so far, has been very good. It is very slim and unnoticeable to the person wearing it on their visor. It is bright enough for all close up and medium range activities. Like most headlamps, it bends to cover what you are reading or observing. The colors are good. I suggest making them in camo colors for hunting/hiking. But overall it is a good light.
