I tried it on a 7.2 metre outrigger canoe ! with 4 people it got us to normal paddling speed, and with 2 people it was faster. it works good, I've ran it twice for long periods, no probs. It says 1000watts on the motor box so you can calculate the HP. Make sure everything is tight, like the throttle control and cable, mine got stuck on full as it slipped. It's pretty loud.

The motor seems very good. I started it yesterday and looks and sounds like it will do well on my kayak. 👍. The only problem is that it came with no nut to secure it to the bracket on the kayak, just a long bolt. Also maybe some instructions on how to hook the throttle cable up. My cable seems a bit stretched as nothing happens until you get to the 4th or 5th click on the the throttle handle.
