Stunning period collection.
I recently saw a Doco that was about the friendship and rivalry between Truman Capote and Tennessee Williams. Through the Documentary we were shown clips of the films made and adapted from Williams great stage work. I realised I hadn't ever seen a lot of the films and so made a search to see if a collection was ever issued. Indeed it was and there is room for more. The seven films in the collections I have are terrific. The best of the Directors of the time, 60's/70's and the glorious performances from some of the greatest 'stars' of the period. I'm still making my way through all the films but very happy with my selection. And in excellent condition and superb postage value and quick - particularly as it came from the other side of the planet. Thank you and I hope there'll be more ... Tennessee Williams and the American Theatre Experience
I teach the History of American Theatre in both high school and college. Over the years I keep finding myself using three acclaimed playwrights as the uber-examples of the evolution of our modern theatre: Neil Simon, Arthur miller, & Tennessee Williams. I've been on a 'quest' to locate as many filmed examples of their works as possible. If purchased from DVD specialty stores the prices were prohibitive to a teacher's budget. After searching e-bay I found the William's dvd collection - new - for $20 less than the specialty stores! What a find! Without straining my budget, I am able to add to the course collection of not only dvd's but other Broadway related teaching resouces. I am an avid fan of Tennessee Williams...if you love his work then the box set is essential! It was also a great price! My favorite Tennessee Williams' moviees were included in the box set as well.
