      My favorite electric strings

I have played guitar for 54 years and have used many different string brands and types through the years. These D'Addario flat wounds are the smoothest playing, warmest sounding, and longest lasting strings that I have ever found for my electric hollowbody guitars. They can give you that nice mellow jazz tone are you can drive them hard and get that rockabilly punch out of them. The low friction, smooth feel of the flat wound surface allows me to play for hours on end with minimal finger soreness, I highly recommend them to anyone who plays on an electric guitar.

    • D'Addario ECG24 Chromes Flat Wound Electric Guitar Strings, Jazz Light, 11-50

      Sound great and play easy.

    • Easy to play, sound great, long lasting

I really like the D'Addario XL Chromes Jazz Light flat wound strings for my Gibson L4 arch top and Yamaha SA2200 guitars that are easy to play being 11-50 gauges with a wound 22 gauge for the G string. If I played more often and was "in shape", I might go to a slightly heavier gauge with more like 12-52 gauges. Excellent strings that sound great!

    • Excellent Flat Wound Strings for Jazz or Other Vintage Guitars

For the price, these are an excellent deal. For some Tomastik are the only choice, however I feel for many other archtops the Chromes work perfect. We've outfitted several vintage instruments with them at the studio, with no complaint.

    • Well worth the investment

This is my first set of flat wounds. Easy on the fingers and still great tone. No extra noise sliding up or down the fret board while resting on the strings. I will get more.
