  • Gotta lurve the BT

With a 6500mah battery pack, the UD-BT01, and a short USB cable I’ve turned my 49 key USB-MIDI keyboard into a wireless ‘portable’ device, connecting to my hardware setup through my iPad, which simultaneously connects to an MD-BT01 on my hardwired MIDI interface. all it needs now is proper Win10 drivers and then it’s a serious relationship. Even with this convoluted routing chain, If there is any signal latency it’s so minuscule I cannot hear it. I find it to be more reliable than the network MIDI option in close quarters situations. I’m probably going to set up another KB the same way and will do it with another UD-BT01 - the iPad supports multiple of these BT devices and with the app from Yamaha, they can be renamed to something more meaningful. V cool.

  • Works with impulse 49 novation

Opted on this instead of apple lighting con to control my midi impulse hardware with my ipad pro 10.5 because of unreliable issues with apple lighting cam con. At first it didn’t detect the midi hardware but when I downloaded midimitrr ... instantly connected well. Latency is negligible, signal connection is solid. Using the yanaha ud-bt01 live on stage with my ipad pro 10.5/ impulse 49 novation no problems. I have my main synth apps like model 15, isem, ravenscroft 275, sunrizer, AUM and Layr, these are handled pretty well with ipad pro engine. Through the yamaha bluetooth the connection is flawless. Less clutter on cables too. Hope this helps those like me almost giving up on digital sound products.
