Avoid like plague
Our humidifier finally arrived today and within 3 hours of having it on our wood stove we have decided to get rid of it. First off there is a tag on the product that says contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer. It also states that this is for NON FOOD use only. Didn't think much of it, as we are just using it to add humidity to the air. But after about an hour on top of the wood stove the whole house smelled like burning chemicals. I was outside but I came back in and was disgusted by the smell, and my girlfriend who had been in the house the whole time said she felt lightheaded and dizzy. If it's not safe for food, you probably don't want to be breathing the vapors from it either. Also it is a two piece mold that has a weld running down the center of the ... The first day I used it the lid started to rust. It's very rusty and the water is always discolored by rust as well as solid particles.... Icky Chinese toxic manufacturing comes to mind every time I see the polluted water that's in this kettle

Poor quality Chinese casting.
Poor quality casting. Mold seams have inclusions that will deteriorate with corrosion and leak from the bottom. I can't risk this on my woodstove - returned. Chinese casting also has risk of contaminants which may be toxic as their safety regulations are lax.

Great cast iron
THis pot puts out lots of steam on our wood stove. The house was dry, my hands were dry. Just throw a few eucalyptus leaves in and the house smells great. Good for stuffy nose and bad sinus
