ordered these to use on two TYT TH8600 transceivers. just took the little mounting square and placed it on bracket that came with TH8600, drilled 4 holes, and mounted them. Holds very well, nice to be able to adjust tilt. Very sturdy, and since TH8600 uses small metric machine screws to hold mount to unit, it isn't real easy to get it out if you want to take it in at night or lock it up in trunk, but the cup holder releases easily and I can take the whole think out in less than a minute .
