There are positives to this figure and there are negatives. Sadly, the negatives far outweigh the positives. So here goes. This figure is, at first glance, a nearly identical copy of a previous figure. The positives of this being that her previous release was in a five pack and that was a bit expensive. This was a version of that figure released at a more reasonable price and a bit more accessible for kids and collectors alike. Sadly, the positives stop there. A lot of people may sight the weapons and gear she comes with as a positive, but unless you are a stickler for figures having all their original weaponry, then you can put any weapon in her hand that looks good and you're ready to go, so I don't count that. The negatives are almost too numerous to count. First off, she is cheap. Her plastic is cheap and light compared with the other version of this figure. Speaking of the plastic, the five-pack version had hair that utilized a different, non-glossy plastic to add a bit of difference between the black of her outfit and the black of her hair. This one uses the same cheap, non-durable, overly shiny plastic as the body. A nit-pick? maybe. But it gets worse. Paint: So the very first thing you will see is how horrible her face paint is. It's this overly thick, pastry, inhuman looking coat for skin tone and instead of contouring her lips, they just put a sloppy red dot on the lip's center more or less and called it a day. It looks like Queen Amadala lips or something weird like it. lastly, the glasses are overly thick so it looks very "racoon eye'd". Since I have both, holding the 5 pack one up to her, the 5 pack has great face color, thin glasses frames that look like glasses, and a really nicely painted mouth even sporting a bit of a villainous smirk. This figure was a huge step down in quality. However, all that aside, is this figure a complete flop? Amazingly? no. Me personally? I bought three of these because I sort of have a side hobby of customizing. They are being sold at a cheap price point and with a little work, I managed to make a few really cool figures, one of them a far better baroness to boot. If you aren't a customizer, then these figures offer a few other reasons to buy. If you don't have a baroness and want one but can't find one at an inexpensive price, she does do the trick well enough. For kids, her price point again makes her easy to get, but then, she's not really durable enough for rough play so be careful. For collectors, If you are after a really pretty cool Lady Jaye, find a complete Social Clash pack because the Lady Jaye in there is very cool in my opinion. The Baroness, think of her as a kitchy sort of extra to add to the pot for that Lady Jay.Read full review
