It great for basic tasks. A great CPU for an entry level system with a great upgrade path. It's cheaper than the competition(Pentium G5400) and will overclock on the right motherboard. Cons: It's only a dual core which isn't ideal for power applications and triple A gaming. Even on a B450 or X470 the RAM is capped at DDR4 2666. The L3 cache is gimped. For $40 more you could get the R3 2200G which is a true quad core, has a better on die GPU and is unlocked with the multiplier and memory. If you're only looking to do basic things and don't want to spend a lot of money this is your GPU, the Vega 3 on die GPU will save you on buying a video card and you coulld have a compleye system foe close to $250 brand new. If you're looking to game and/or run power apps skip this. It's 35 watt part so it'd be great for a power efficient system.Read full review

I have had this little chip working 24/7 in a low cost gaming rig. This thing is amazing, I am more than satisfied with the performance. I am using a Gigabyte B450 motherboard, and I updated to the latest BIOS. This allowed me to unlock the mutiplier and I overclocked to 3.95 Ghz with very little additional voltage. The system was not rock solid stable at that speed, so my 24/7 overclock is 3.8Ghz with stock voltage. I paired this with a GTX 1060, and at 1080P I have been playing games like Skyrim, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Portal 1+2, and many others at high settings. In regards to Mass Effect, that game will not even start with anything less than a quad core CPU. I have tested this with many different processors, but somehow this 2 core, 4 thread CPU is seen as a quad core by ME. At any rate, this is one heckuva little workhorse CPU and I will continue to use it until Ryzen 3000 series comes out. Its that good.Read full review

I used it to build a NAS machine, with low priced parts I was able to build something cheaper than most of the cheap synology/qnap boxes with 2 bays, but with 6 SATA bays and upgradability.

Ran the cpu for over a month without a heatsink, no problems. Graphics are great at 720p, runs windows 10. Worked well with 5600xt gpu for gaming.

I needed to update the BIOS on a B450 motherboard and this was the cheapest CPU I could find to do it, worked perfect for that.
