Quick ship, well packaged. XBee radios worked as hoped, in fact I just ordered eight more!
As expected, the radios were soldered to the boards. I Dremelled them off, removed the pins individually with a 685F soldering iron, sucked the solder out of the holes with a hand solder sucker, soldered on new pins. Took about 23 minutes for the second one. (I had also tried Chip Quick SMD removal low-temp solder to no avail. But these are thru-hole, not SMD, so not Chip Quick's fault.) Will do 8 more!

USPS left it sitting outside (without knocking) as there was no signature required, but that falls on the limitations of eBays automated shipping system & USPS (not the seller).
