About a million photos (mostly black 'n' white, but many in color) along with many terrific cutaway drawings. This book claims to cover every V-12 engine that powered a car, from 1904 to the time of printing. (This includes an entire chapter on aircraft engines like the Liberty, the Merlin, the Allison V-1710, and others, which were stuffed into land-based vehicles by racers and other nutjobs!) I was initially disappointed by a lack of coverage for one of my favorite V-12s, upon further reading the 702 cubic inch GMC "Twin Six" of the early '60's (which was clearly a truck (not a car) engine) is described in the chapter entitled "Engines for the Elite" as background information to the proposed Cadillac V-12 under development in the early-to-mid sixties. This book is printed in England, and suffers none of the binding or printing problems I tend to see in books coming from Communist China. This book is VERY RECOMMENDED; Ludvigsen's books tend to be excellent and this is no exception.Read full review
