Sledge Hammer - Series 1 DVD
Sledge Hammer is a timeless piece of 80's comedy, loosely based off the Dirty Harry character. He's an eccentric, Magnum 44 dependent, cliched tough cop. He annoys his neighbours with his (appartment block) living room firing range, has a whole barrage of excellent original one-liners and is great for relations - both his local police department and my own (my neighbours and my wife all seem to enjoy his company - almost more than my own). If you buy any comedy this year, buy this. It is better than any film I've seen in the past 10yrs - and I have seen many. Happy buying and even better viewing. "Trust me. Trust Me, I Know What I'm Doing!!
An excellent under-rated Dirty Harry pastiche starring David Rasche as a misogynistic, trigger-happy cop meting out justice with excessive force as standard. With the cast rounded out by Harrison Page as his put-open Captain (in the Herbert Lom (Insepctor Dreyfuss in the Pink Panther films) mold) and Anne-Marie Martin as his beautiful and bemused partner - the series also features cameos from great character actors like Brion James and John Vernon to name but two. I used to love this series back in the day, but wasn't sure if i was looking back on it with rose-tinted glasses. This is certainly not the case and am very pleased with my purchase. If you like your humour in the same vein as the Naked Gun and the Simpsons this is for you. This box-set is jam-packed with extras, including ...
