Genuine Ford Thermostat .
The genuine Ford Thermostat for the 6 cylinder Fords from " EA " on wards was made in the U.K. by " Waxstat " these all seem to be very high quality and on the rare occasion that they do malfunction they always seem to fail in the open position which is the safest mode of failure ( as opposed to jamming shut and overheating the motor ) . I started using mainly " Genuine Only " thermostats in the cars that I repair ( Professional tradesman nearly 40 years ) after the brand that I normally use and had done for decades seemed to be going bad . As far as I am concerned a thermostat should last the life of the car or at least the motor , that should be at least 250,000 KM +. Lately ( past 10 years ) even the name brands like Dayco and Gates seem to struggle to get much beyond 100,000 KM before ... The genuine Ford Thermostat for the 6 cylinder Fords from " EA " on wards was made in the U.K. by " Waxstat " these all seem to be very high quality and on the rare occasion that they do malfunction they always seem to fail in the open position which is the safest mode of failure ( as opposed to jamming shut and overheating the motor ) . Genuine Ford thermostat
Replaced old Thermostat because it was permanently open and engine was running cold and check engine light kept coming on, plus poor fuel economy in cold whether. Car now running smoothly from cold starts. Quality , Waxstat brand, made in England part!
