I stated that it was not a good value simply because what I paid here is the same as what I paid new. Now in saying that, I also would tell you that it is discontinued and as such falls into the line of thought that price is what the market will bare. The shipping was fast, and delivery was good, product was just as I expected. ASUS P6T Motherboard - Only the Best
Building a computer prompts many decisions. I always do my research and put my build design on paper before I buy. I've always been a gamer growing up and my home-built rigs share that influence. I always start my planning with a motherboard that will satisfy all of my needs. I had to keep my wallet in mind this time but I wanted a really good board, with lots of features and including support for Core i7 (LGA 1366 socket) so I went with the ASUS P6T. The ASUS P6T is a fast board supporting speeds up to 1333 MHz right out of the box and extending to an overclocked speed of 2000 MHz (that's 2GHz)! This board has 6 DIMM slots, allowing for triple channel memory allowing for a maximum of 24GB RAM. This board also features 3 PCIe x16 slots, 1 PCIe x1 slot and 2 PCI slots for ... P6T, Nice compromise in price vs features
OK, for starters the P6T is *not* the most recent socket 1366 mobo. It does not have USB 3.0 or SATA 6 Gbps. Having said that, it does have the triple PCI-e slots, and a load of other ports/slots. If I really want USB 3.0 I'll just buy an add-in card; considering I own no 3.0 devices, it's really a non-issue. Also, only the highest-end SSD's can max SATA 3.0 Gbps, and that's again irrelevant as I run a 4-disk RAID with conventional HDD's. OK, I love how ASUS puts together the board layout with all the USB, firewire, power switch clusters, etc. across the bottom of the board. It keeps the case from getting cluttered with cables criss-crossing. They have the SATA ports clustered now to either face forward, or they are out of the way of graphics cards. I have the otherwise excellent P5K-E, and its SATA ports do interfere with cards. Guess ASUS learned their lesson. My particular board I purchased used, and I'm really happy with it so far. I'm used to the way ASUS puts together their BIOS, and all the tweaking/overclocking stuff is on one big menu. I was easily able to go in and adjust XMS to use officially 'overclocked' memory, and tweak another couple things to really keep it stable. My only real complaint is that I run a PSU on bottom ATX case and the P4 cable just cannot reach the tippy-top of the board to plug in, unless I run it right across the vid card and everything else. I don't know if this can ever be changed, or maybe I just buy a different case. Just checking Super Pi with a stock 960 CPU is like a 12 second run to 1 million...this is unbelievable. I've also been doing a lot of testing with a cheap 400 W PSU; the board and CPU just don't pull a lot of power, even during stress testing. If you want the latest socket 1366 board, walk by the P6T. If you're like me, and you can contend with add in USB 3.0, a P6T can be backbone of a really nice rig.

Much less than I could find it stateside...if you can find it stateside. I had a pretty valuable I7 processor with no motherboard. Couldn't find one anywhere. These guys were very responsive, excellent at communicating. The board was shipped and delivered really fast considering it came from China. It has worked perfectly in my studio DAW.

Great MotherBoard
I installed 12GB (6x2GB) of OCZ Platinum 1600mhz RAM with no problem. Booted up flawlessly, Vista recognizes it and so does CPUZ. Mind you, i'm running the RAM at 1600mhz, 9-9-9-24 timings and 1.5v as is what the bios set automatically when I chose the 1600mhz profile in AI tweaker and I have not yet played around with this. Cons: Manual for this board (V1) states you can only install one 1600 dimm per channel, limiting you to 6GB max of 1600...incorrect.
