I bought this lens to compliment my new Sony a6000 and boy am I glad I did. This lens is sharp and the performance is what you would expect from Sony. This lens performs just like any Canon or Nikon lens of the same scale. It's very lightweight and portable and feels really good in the hand. I highly recommend this lens especially for the Mirrorless, and Micro four thirds cameras. It is one of those things where you can't go wrong. The buttons around the lens barrel allows you to lock exposure and the focus ring is smooth and really easy to use in manual mode. I have really been impressed with Sony cameras and lenses so far although some lenses are a bit overboard with the costs, however, that is for another review. Don't miss out on this lens as this lens will give you a better advantage than using an adapter for your previous Canon or Nikon version. Also note in manual mode Sony has a peak feature that when you shoot manual mode and turn the focus ring on this lens it will automatically digitally zoom in so that you can be sure that the subject is in focus before you take the shot. I would rate this as a must have lens.Read full review

I purchased this lens to upgrade the SEL 55-210mm lens that was bundled with my SONY A6000. While I wouldn't trash the SEL 55-210 like other reviewers have, the SEL 70-200mm G f/4.0 OSS is a definite upgrade and should be for the price. Image quality and product build are definitely professional grade. The constant f/4.0 aperture setting also provides a distinct advantage in lower light conditions over the f/4.5-6.3 range of the SEL 55-210. The internal zoom of the SEL 70-200mm and various custom settings also contribute to a lens that should be apart of any professional or serious amateur photographer using Sony E-Mount cameras. This lens weighs over 2 1/2 times that of the smaller cousin, a factor that should be considered for those who like to travel light. I use this lens primarily for exterior projects requiring a zoom lens along with the FE 28-70mm. I also find it useful for landscape projects when not using the amazing SEL 10-18mm wide-angle lens. I will keep the lighter SEL 55-210mm lens for times when I need to pack light and difference in quality is not a factor.Read full review

I have really enjoyed having this lens. I'm using it with the Sony A7rii, and it makes for great images and video. Pros: Well Built - solid construction It works flawlessly with the Sony A7rii's auto-focus technology in both photo and video modes Beautiful bokeh Great portrait lens Very similar feel to the Canon 70-200mm f4L IS USM Cons: The focus ring can be less than responsive when using manual focus. Making fine adjustments takes a little more effort. Unlike the Canon L series lenses, it doesn't have physical focus marks, so pulling a manual focus without looking at the screen is impossible. Overall it is a great lens, and should be in your arsenal if you're a serious photographer looking at going to the Sony Alpha line.

I am not an photo equipment expert and I can truthfully say that I have never spent over $1,000 on a camera lens and I did have serious misgivings about spending so much money. I have used this lens for a few outings now and IMHO it is an excellent lens. Construction is extraordinary, as is operation of the zoom and focus rings, sharp focus, great bokeh, both manual and auto focus are great, as is stabilization and there appears to be no softness at full or minimum zoom and no vignetteing as far as I can see. The lens hood is really nice as well. My major concern was the weight of the lens and the potential for it negatively impacting the mount on my Sony A7. The lens marries perfectly to the camera and so far no worries. I use a Gariz hand strap and admit that I cradle the lens in the palm of my hand as I carry the camera. One of the questions above asked if it was 'a good value' and my only hesitation was rating it a 'yes' was simply due to the extraordinary cost. But, if you can get by the expense, get this lens as it is truly exceptional. Read full review

She's a biggish baby but incredibly sharp, excellent contrast and no CA, even when shooting into the sun. The FE 70-200 has both internal focusing and zooming - thank you Sony for finally matching what your competitors offer. Considering that 200mm is 7.87 inches the lens isn't that much longer. To save weight and bulk the majority of the time I take the tripod ring off. I work with the A7rii which has built-in 5 axis IS. Out of curiosity I turned the body IS off and just used the lens's and I can tell you that yes, the lens has great IS and I was able to sharply shoot at 1/15 at 200mm. Pricing is fair for a lens with these specs - right in line with its competitors. I know why it is painted white but that doesn't mean I like a white lens.
