Seeking to inject a pop alternative into a rock-heavy genre, PopStar Guitar is a rhythm-based music sim that lets players jam just as hard as they would in Guitar Hero or Rock Band, but to tunes with a softer edge. Gamers can engage in both a single-player Career or Co-op Career mode, growing from a garage band to a worldwide phenomenon as they travel to 25 unique venues and perform more than 50 pop songs from artists such as 3 Doors Down, Simple Plan, Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5, and Rihanna. Gamers can choose from a dozen playable characters, and each character can be customized during the run up to the worldwide "Battle of the Bands" contest. Those looking for a less intense experience can also play a number of single- and multiplayer mini-games.

    PopStar Guitar PS2 Fun!

    I bought this for my daughter because she loves Simple Plan and Guitar Hero. I emailed the seller ahead of time for input as to how it plays, and the seller informed me that our wireless Guitar Hero guitars would NOT work, but we bought it anyway. The seller was right, but my daughter has figured out how to use the standard controllers to make her own characters, band, venues, play songs, etc and has a blast when she gets the time to play. She also enjoys being able to play at differing levels to get used to the controls and the songs. She enjoys the variety of music available, as well.

    PopStar Guitar for PS2

    I can't seem to figure out how to hook up the guitar to make it work so have been using the regular controller. The songs are awesome! Really like their selection. I'm used to Guitar Hero so the setup on the screen is a little different and somewhat harder to navigate through. I do enjoy playing it though, the notes are set up pretty much the same as Guitar Hero as well.

    I love the game. I wanted something that was different from Guitar Hero, something more with a pop appeal. It was delivered fast.

    game is ok, but compared to rockband, or even guitar hero it just is not as good....save your money.the song selection is not as favorable as the other games as well
