AS LOVER OF ENGROSSING SCRIPT AND AMATEUR IS EXCELLENT.
I am a pen collector, but also an admirer of Engrosser's Script, which is rather an art than just a script.Not easy to find info in Greece, since this art was born in U.K and raised in the U.S. I decided to start learning this art myself. Too much search in internet, (in iampeth too), trying to find the "right" inks and nibs... searching in internet for more than two months (before writing a single letter) and finally I bought my first nibs and ink. What was really missing was a book that would really give me a good start. This is the one "Mastering Copperlpate Calligraphy" by Eleanor Winters. This book is maybe the best to start with. What is worth to mention -that no book of its kind describes it- is not only teaches how to write in a correct manner, but ... You may also be interested in a more recent book by Eleanor Winters: Calligraphy for Kids. Adults as well as kids benefit from this book which introduces a variety of alphabets. Eleanor is not only an author but an excellent teacher-hands on- as well. This book on Copperplate is like a "Bible" for calligraphers.This is the most comprehensive book and one you can learn from step by step. Detailed instructions and samples to look at. A must have for a new Calligrapher
I was trying to figure out how to learn calligraphy. Where and what supplies to write, how to get started. So I called a calligrapher. Jodean was gracious and offered me the advice on how to get started. Walnut ink, oblique pen with metal holder and this book. It is concise step by step text book. I highly recommend it .
