Short and stylized- not the same quality as Panda
This is great as an "extra" on a dvd of Kung Fu Panda but not as a stand alone feature which it is sometimes represented as. It is short about 25 minutes. Each of the furious five is given a 4 minute mini-origin style story. The animation is very stylized and 2-D, not at all like Kung Fu Panda (except for the little transition scenes between each "secret" which is done with the same production values as Kung Fu Panda) Bottom line - to short to pay full price for as a feature movie. Good movie... but expensive
If you liked Kung Fu Panda, this is a good supplemental. For entertainment, I give it 5 stars. Each character gets a spotlight story where the lesson learned is a very good one. Keep in mind this DVD is only a short 24 minute show (I give it 1 star for that). It's too bad they didn't just tag this movie along free with Kung Fu Panda. I wouldn't pay the full price $14.98 for a 24 minute feature, but it's worth it if you can find it for 50% off or more.If you liked Kung Fu Panda, this is a good supplemental. I decided to by this because my family really liked the original Kung Fu Panda. This was a really great spinoff although i think it should have been added as a special feature in the first movie. It's time limit is not worth what its worth in stores. The story goes on with Po having to teach a new generation of kids the way of the ninja. He then begins to tell the kids about the furious five's story and how they came to be.
