Reed Richards is a very talented scientist seeking the funding for a space experiment. Along with his friend and partner Ben Grimm, he goes to businessman Victor Von Doom and manages to get his support. So, Reed and Ben, along with Doom, his partner Sue Storm and her brother Johnny, find themselves aboard Doom's private space station. However an accident will flood the station with cosmic rays and Reed, Ben, Sue and Johnny will gain amazing powers thus becoming the Fantastic Four. But, the four of them aren't the only ones affected by the cosmic rays An excellent movie that will watch many times.
Marvel does a great job once again with bringing the Fantastic Four back to life. The movie has a great cast and some awesome special effects. The story is basically just character development and getting to know the Fantastic Four. There are a few scenes where the team actually gets to help people but not many. And of course there is a big villain battle with Dr. Doom so it almost makes up for not having so many hero action sequences. If nothing else, this film is a great setup for the rest of the series to follow. A must have for Fantastic Four fans but not necessarily for comic book fans in general. You should still check it out though. 4/5
This movie gets a lot of negative and middling reviews. By and large they are deserved, this is not a great film even by superhero movie standards. The main problem is the script, it fails to capture the spirit of the Fantastic Four as established in the comic. It tries to hit on many of the book's tropes but fails to register with any sense of wonder or depth of emotion. There is little flow to the film, it doesn't sustain or build interest to the climax. Julian McMahon as Victor Von Doom is awful, he captures absolutely none of the villainous menace of Doc Doom. Here the problem is evenly split between the writing and the casting and it doesn't add up to a compelling villain. This is the main failing of the story. If Doom doesn't grab you, you've got nothing; no fear, no urgency and frankly, no reason to watch. The rest of the cast is okay. Chris Evans seems to be having the most fun as the flamboyant Johnny Storm. Michael Chiklis is fine but his makeup doesn't cut it. He looks like he's stuck about half way to becoming the Thing. Not nearly big or rocky enough. Jessica Alba as Sue Storm doesn't look like a real blonde, her contact lenses are obvious. Maybe I just identify her too strongly with her Dark Angel role. I'd wait for this one on TV. If you like it then buy it.Read full review
This movie tells the basic story of the beginning of the Fantastic Four...it does a pretty good job of following the comic books. Great CGI work...actors all worked well together too.

Pros: Excellent HD quality, cool animated menus Cons: Lacks special features found in DVD version, F4 is not the best superhero film out there. Why?: I bought the Blu-ray version to see the movie in FULL 1080p. I wouldn't pay more than $25 for the Blu-ray version, if I were you.

I realy didn't know how good this movie was going to be. So I thought that I would have the second part of this series. But they did a very good job in makeing this movie. In blu-ray it make it all worth it. I wish that every movie that try to do it the second time, Should try to do it the way this movie was done.
