Purchased at local Best Buy for the price as is online. This CPU is around 15% faster than my 2700x and about 20% faster than a R7 1700. It works as intended with a 1080 Ti. I game at 4k-2k and this thing works like a modern i7 in gaming. It's also very snappy in windows. The load times are much faster. I've had plenty of Ryzen processors, 2400g, 1700, 2700x and now this 3700x. I have to say AMD is really getting serious now with the 3000 series. This CPU doesn't bottleneck games. The 3600 is plenty for any gamer for 199$. Just get a better cooler. This 3700x I have is paired with a x470 Gaming 7 and Teamgroup Legend Samsung B-Die 3200 CL14 memory. It's very fast indeed. My Cpu-z score is 530 single-threaded at stock speeds. Userbenchmark shows a 146 single-core speed. That's really fast. Read full review

Performance is awesome! The only thing i’ve been scratching my head with was that the cpu was always on the highest clock (4.5mhz) and the fan was always ramping up and down each second. When changing the power plan, it can go to 2.2mhz and sometimes won’t even change. Other than that, it really performs well and is a great buy.

Very happy with this processor! Paired with a 5700 XT GPU and 32gb of ram, my PC is now able to handle any video game, 4k video editing software, recording software, and all the google tabs one could ever want open at one time. The Wraith cooler that comes with the CPU looks absolutely gorgeous, has a thick radiator, and does a great job of keeping the CPU cool. I had a single fan radiator water cooler installed previously, but the wraith looked so good that I didn't mind switching out the watercooler, and my temps have not changed dramatically so shows the wraith is able to keep up even when running the CPU on 'game mode' with a .2ghz overclock! Very easy to install especially if you already have a Ryzen build, Wraith cooler comes with thermal paste pre-applied so no need to worry about buying paste. All in all, very satisfied with the CPU, and it even comes with a nice Ryzen 7 sticker to put on your case! Read full review

Ok...back to the good old days (90's) when AMD and INTEL were young and duking it out. Intel had a slight edge which to me wasn't worth the cost. As AMD was my go to Proc. Now AMD has put up some serious benchmark numbers and I'm a happier fan again. Loving my Proc and may have to find a serious reason to kick it up a notch for a Threadripper...

Phenomenal processor! Temps stay lower than my i5 4460 or fx 8350 when gaming, and that's with the stock cooler! I used a liquid cooler on the i5 and a hyper evo 212 on my 8350, the Hyper Evo 212 performed just as well as the Corsair H100i did...The stock cooler ramps it's fan up sometimes but I don't mind it for the temperatures this processor is at. I'll take a slightly loud fan at times vs 65+ temps...ONLY TIME I'VE SEEN IT HIT ABOVE 62 is STRESS TESTING AND GTA V where they both get it up to about 70-72. Which still isn't terrible...

This is a great leap above the 1700X that was replaced. Its way faster. Glad I waited and skipped a generation and bypassed the 2700X. The price for performance is outstanding. I have no gripes at all with the CPU. My only gripe is that the new bios keeps processor from hitting 4.4Ghz. So far, my fastest cores only hit 4.366Ghz. I wish the BIOS was matured first before the processor was released so that you get what you paid for. Its not going to make a big difference in performance, but psychologically, it makes the buyer feel good when you see that processor hitting 4.4Ghz consistently.

It came just 2 days after ordering and I installed it on my x470 with updates bios and it runs great! Some voltage spikes which cause my 360 rad increase in RPM but only in idle and I don’t hear it with headphones and when ina game paired with my 1070 its great and rad is quiet I upgraded from a r5 1600 and the upgrade to 3700x was really night and day I saved so much time with Editing videos and rendering and seen an FPS improvement in games. I absolutely love it and do not regret my purchase.(box came a little dinged but It’s holiday season I’m just glad I actually got it ,it works and early at that)

I got this (and suitable motherboard and RAM) to replace my 8 year old computer. This performs great and with motherboard's default setting consistently runs at about 4.4GHz. Temperature remains at most about 70'C while at full load using the pack in cooler. My last computer used Intel CPU because in the past it tended to perform better. However Intel had slight issue recently and wasn't able to produce CPU using smaller than 14nm process and as a result, tended to run hotter than AMD CPU of comparable performance. I felt it wasn't worth the higher cost of Intel CPU this year. If you're not in a hurry to upgrade or replace your computer, my suggestion is to wait a couple weeks after the upcoming Ryzen 4000 series because the used market will be flooded with Ryzen 3000 series CPU at a nice fat discountRead full review

It is a very nice and affordable upgrade to pump your system to the next higher level. This was part of a completely new Custom System, so I'm very happy with it and its performance.

Its just as described, only beef is it likes to auto over clock to 4.4 so i have to manually set it to 3.6 but that could be a bios problem on my end. All n all awesome cpu.
