  • Top of the line for MUSIC

I buy a lot of iPods, and have a great deal of experience dealing with them. I'll tell you the pros and cons of the 4th Gen iPod (gray scale screen). Pros: High quality sound Excellent resale value even if fully or partially non functional Backlit screen clear and easy to read Has shuffle feature to let you listen to your collection in random order A few fun mini games to kill time, don't expect much though Attractive looking with nice smooth design Easy to navigate menus with innovative click wheel, just rub your finger over dial to scroll A LOT of memory, about 7500 songs worht Cons: Thick compared newer models Heats up unlike newer models (guess this is pro if you always have cold hands?) Battery life lasts several hours, but not as long as newer iPods Can't add games, videos, ...

  • All Great products have faults

For starters i think that my i pod is the best buy ever did. But there are some things that Apple should reconsider. 1. Great design but it scratches too easy and you are forsed to use a case!there goes the great design 2. The battery last for only 10 - 14 hours when playing music for fotos and videos only last for 2.30 hours then you have to find a pc to charge it becayse the charger you buy it extra and it's not cheap 3. I personally find apple's i pod accessories expensive

  • 30 Gig IPOD Photo

The big plus for the Apple Ipod is that there are many companies manufacturing gadgets specifically for it. Ie FM Tuners, Cases, various Docking stations (Speaker systems from Bose, JBL, etc), as well as Clock Radio's etc. The transfer mechanism (Itunes) is pretty bad. Other devices (Creative Labs, IRiver, Toshiba etc) use Windows Media Player to sychronize play lists. The User Interface leaves a lot to be disired. Other players let you click on an Artist, Album, or a song and que it up to follow the last song selected. With the Ipod if you click on an Artist, Album or song you just changed what you are listening to. In short for functionality, synchronization and user friendlyness all other devices win hands down. But if you want to connect to a home, auto or other device the Ipod ...

  • Good purchase, but not for my purpose.

I bought the Classic to store photos on a big trip I was taking so I'd have a backup of photos without taking a laptop. The price was right for a reconditioned iPod photo Classic. It worked on smaller 2 GB cards, but when I tried to transfer photos from my larger 4GB and 8GB SD cards, the battery couldn't hang long enough to download all the photos. I think it's a great product, but it just wasn't in the cards for the use I wanted.
