  • T-Bone Walker: Signature Licks DVD

I found this to be a pretty good DVD featuring Duke explaining and demonstrating elements of T-Bones' style. The framework description is easy to understand. Being a DVD, the demonstration songs may be studied as intensely as you wish. For years I have been playing a lot of the licks shown in this DVD as I have heard those licks used by various artists. This DVD has given me some new places to take my playing. Duke R. definitely is the best I have witnessed at playing this style and the demo songs are a joy to watch. Enjoy.......Joe in Nacogdoches

  • Not for beginners

He goes pretty fast and doesn't slow down much to explain things. The DVD isn't well indexed or organized. I've been playing 4 years and found this frustrating. This would be a lot better if printed tablature and chords were included. That being said, if you are interested in T Bone Walker, it is worth a look. You might check out Truefire and Youtube for some other lessons.

  • T-Bone Walker: Signature Licks (2005, DVD)

This DVD helped explain some of the mysteries I had with T-Bone's playing. The chord substitutions and the way he plays seems to be accurate. The thing I dislike about it is the fingerings are hard to follow in the video. It would have helped if there were diagrams in the video. The tabs from the little booklet are hard to follow.
