    Although not a great film it is worth viewing for the understated performance of Brando.

    Little known Brando film from 1960s. Although the plot is not quite believable this film is worth viewing. Brando's career took a major hit with the failure of Mutiny On the Bounty. Both the studios and the public had enough of Brando after that flop. Also, it was a black and white film in the mid 1960s and by that time more and more films were shot in color. And,, perhaps the public had had enough of World War II movies since by the time of its release the anti-war movement was beginning in response to the escalation in Vier Nam, which reached 500,000 American troops. However, Brando did make some interesting films between Mutiny and The Godfather. I think the best film of that time frame was Reflections in a Golden Eye. Morituri is not to be dismissed because the story is interesting ...

    An excellent classic movie featuring two superb actors Brynner and Brando. Brando's acting in particular is impressive. Plot is subtly intricate, however. I needed two viewings to fully understand its subtleties.
