      Easy install, a bit slow in speed

      I fitted this in about an hour to an existing single car wide roller door. The instructions are easy to follow, the unit is lightweight and the remotes are a good size. RF signal is quite good (I have a long drive and no issue with the signal reaching the door), but it is also quite slow compared to my other Merlin system on a tilt-a-door setup. Also comes with a standard 3 pin 240V plug so no need for an electrician to wire it in.

      Poor warranty

      I purchased a Merlin 550EVO a bit over a year ago and it died. I was told that because the store I purchased it from no longer existed I could not claim the dead circuit board on warranty. (it was sold with a 3 year warranty). The cost of the replacement board from Merlin, was within a couple of dollars of a new unit. I purchased another Merlin, so I could use the remotes etc for spare parts, in case the new one died. Merlin needs to raise it's game on warranties! Not impressed at all Merlin

      you want regret buying one every thing works as it should

      these units (Merlin MR655MYQ) are fairly easy to install, set up, and use. They operate as they should and the remotes work fine. The LED light does it job, and the auto safety rewind is a nice touch. Value for money? only having the opener a few weeks , I would say yes seems a very good and quite unit
