      Lenovo X550-T1 card arrived in good shape. Unfortunately I could not get the FW and drivers to line up correctly to enable use of 2.5 and 5gb link states, leaving the card stuck with 1 and 10gb link only. Lenovo has a very poor driver repository for these cards.

      Fake Intel NIC. It's a very very good fake but you can spot the board and component differences when compared to a genuine Intel retail NIC from what should be the same factory. Flaky behavior sometimes on power state change, which is what gives it away. Plus the EEPROM is locked down and the vendor ID is incorrect.

      You ordered a Lenovo X550-T1, which is exactly what we shipped. It’s a genuine Intel-based OEM card made for Lenovo. It seems there was some confusion between what you expected (retail Intel) and what you actually ordered. If you check the FRU with Lenovo, you’ll see it’s authentic.
