It seems that the ghost of Hawthorne, who in real life altered his last name to distance himself from a relative who presided over the infamous witch trials, wants gamers to help him rest peacefully by exploring Salem and discovering the truth behind his death. Players must head back in time to interview the ghosts of former townspeople and explore a fully rendered version of the town in ten different adventure missions. A notebook keeps track of relevant information, while mild inventory puzzles and sporadic mini-games are included to keep things varied.
