    Initial rod use

    I have used the rod once for several hours of fishing on the Little Piney near Rolla, MO. Although it is rated as medium, I was fishing for trout with 1/32 oz. lures on 2 lb line which is out of its stated range. I was able to cast with reasonable accuracy The two small fish I caught, I retrieved satisfactorily. I originally wanted a long rod for longer casts with light lures (1/16 and 1/32 oz.) which I could collapse down and carry in my small 8 foot kayak, and this suits that purpose. I also own 5 and 6 foot versions of this same rod, which I normally use and find satisfactory. There may be a bit of tip vibration with heavier lures, so try to check it out for your use.
