    An effective extender - recommended

    Easy to set up using WPS. Works great to extend the Wi Fi in my house with good speed on the 5GHz band. I'm now getting 47MBPS in a room that wouldn't previously connect. Note: if you ever restart your modem (switch off and on), you also need to restart the extender.

    A poor quality extender not fit the bear the name Netgear

    The Netgear EXS6190 AC1200 Dual Band Wifi Range Extender Telstra Max 1200Mbps is a worthless piece of equipment. I bought it based on the specifications and fact that the item bore the name Netgear, however, this device is of inferior quality to the other Netgear devices I had owned. I definitely DO NOT recommend anyone to buy this model of extender. I think a better bet would be to buy a TP-Link unit which comes with a 2 or 3 year warranty. This unit is a disgrace to bear the name Netgear.

    There are newer alternatives, cant be used in working areas as fans whine constantly.

    relatively easy to set up. no configuration required via WPS, however you MUST run your wifi as 2 and 5 ghz, seperate channels, you CANNOT run this using smart switching on a single named SSID. It seems to work ok, however the fan emits a constant whine, so do not recommend this at all for bedrooms, living areas or work spaces. Only acquire this if you have sockets far from hearing range.

    Functional extender for Telstra Gateway Max modems as WiFi or wired access point

    This is a functional unit that can extend a Telstra Gateway Max modem in two ways - as a wireless extender or as a wired access point (if placed near an ethernet connection). The AC plug sits forward of the unit, so it can fit next to a standard AC plug (but not next to a 'brick' plug) on a double AC point. Set up is via a web interface. Note that the unit does have a distinct hum (like a quieter version of a PC fan) that has been reported on other forums. It is not noticeable if placed away from users or in noisy areas, buy you may hear it in a quiet area. It is noticeable enough that, if you were bothered by humming equipment, I would look elsewhere.

    Lightweight with maximum functionality

    It keeps the Internet Speed at the same strength. One of my rooms had a weak WIFI signal, but after setting up th extender, the WIFI strength was consistently strong.
