    Give your 1.8T engine adequate oil capacity

    When mounted longitudinally, as in an Audi or a B5 generation Passat, the 1.8T engine has a tiny oil capacity of about 3.5 qt., completely inadequate for a hot-running turbocharged engine. Protect your engine from sludge buildup by using a good synthetic oil and using this oversize filter, which will increase your total oil capacity to more than 4 qts. Your oil will run slightly cooler, and impurities will be better diluted and filtered. Installation can be just a bit awkward, because the filter just barely clears the left side engine mount, but that is the sole disadvantage.
