Nice light, easy, quiet operation. Mostly stable.
Nice light weight really helps if you are using it with a spotting scope. Much easier to lug around than my old steel Bogen. Not quite as stable as the Bogen, expecially if you extend the center post. Unlike the old Bogen, this tripod has only a single set screw, rather than three, for attaching to the head. Maybe with modern heads, this is fine. But at least temporarily, I'm still using my ancient Bogen head. I can't get it to stay locked together with just the single set screw. This is something I will be able to work around. But I really like the scope for it's light weight, easy/secure leg latches, quiet operation (no clanking sounds). Less cold on the fingers in winter too, than a steel tripod.
