I bought this to improve my financial security by using it for online banking. It's great for that.
Chrome OS is a very secure operating system, so I bought this Chromebook to use for banking. I do all my banking on this computer, and nothing else. This virtually eliminates the possibility of a banking trojan getting into my web browser and draining my account while hiding it from me. Every month when it's time to pay bills or do any banking, I fire this computer up, check my bank balance, pay my bills, or whatever I need to do, then shut it back down. My everyday computer never touches any of those sites. This computer would be fine for other basic computing as well of course, but they're cheap enough that you can dedicate one to banking/bill paying, especially if you grab a refurbished or used one. I bought this for my daughter to do her school work on. She's 9 and I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on something she will probably end up breaking anyways. It arrived a day earlier than expected and was packed well for protection. It's in really good shape-I only noticed a couple of scuffs on the top and normal wear on the mouse area. Speakers and webcam work fine, operates just like a new once. My daughter has been using it the past few hours with no issuesand she loves it.
