The surround-sound quality completely immerses you in the music and audio of anything you listen to.This Definitive Technology subwoofer employs PowerField technology for optimized load matching. This Def Tech performance equipment also delivers a uniform bass effect throughout the listening area. This deep, high-powered woofer allows you to benefit from clear, rich notes, whatever your listening perspective. The driver in these speakers consists of a 10-inch round, high-definition unit. A 10-inch round low bass radiator complements this part. The generous size of these components combines to deliver resounding bass that with clarity and depth.This great piece of tech has ideal specifications for use with all of your home entertainment gear. It offers a frequency response of 18 Hz to 150 kHz. This ensures that you are able to hear every note of an orchestral performance or whisper of a voice in a movie. They are constructed in a unitized, permanently joined style. This ensures an inert, vibration-free performance at every volume level. The subwoofer also has mil-spec glass epoxy circuit boards and precision resistors and capacitors. These eliminate humming and static. With a total harmonic distortion of less than 0.005%, you will be able to listen to music like it sounds in the recording studios.The integrated electronic crossover system in the Definitive Technology subwoofer regulates audio frequencies to offer the best possible sound response in any location. You can use the Definitive Technology ProSub 1000 with your 5.1/2.1 home cinema system in order to deliver rich audio output that fills your space. The built-in MOSFET output devices allow for excellent reproduction of sound. There are two left and right in and out speaker ports so that you can set up a surround-sound environment. This product also features two input and output locations for a receiver, preamp, or decoder connection. Its additional connections allow you to use it with your Blu-ray Disc player, television, computers, and headphones. The rear of the unit features an LED indicator for automatic on and off operation plus a low-pass filter switch.This subwoofer measures 14.44 inches tall by 12 inches wide by 17.88 inches deep. Setting up this matte black monocoque cabinet is easy by following the instructions. The instructions include tips on connecting the component to your amplifier, receivers, or computer. It also explains which type of speaker wire to use based on your ideal home theater setup.

    Description was misleading at best. Vendor would not even respond to my questions. Unit appears to be functioning in the pictures but arrives completely non functional. Most parts were either what appeared to be flood damaged or melted from, I assume, an electrical over load. Would be very careful and read everything thoroughly before I would trust this vendor. I paid $160 dollars plus for what should have been tosses in the recycling bin. Very unhappy. Terrible business practices. Never again!

    Look no further!

    Compact and rock-solid with clean, clear bass. Set-up is quick and easy. What with Definitive Technology's long-standing reputation, and the reasonable price, this sub-woofer is a steal. It replaces my 18 year old Prosub 100, whose internal electronics finally failed. The rest of my surround sound system speakers are also Definitive Technology--also 18 years old and functioning like new. The best feature of this new sub is the volume control on the right side, allowing for convenient tweaking as needed for different sound sources. Highly recommended.

    Great Little Subwoofer

    This subwoofer works well on either movies or music, delivering deep bass that is punchy, not boomy. Has sufficient connections/controls to allow the user to get the best sound possible. You almost forget it's there until program material calls on it to do its thing, then it's yee-ha!

    Musically perfect

    Very tight bass from a relatively small design. I bought this to go with my Definitive Technology Studio 45 speakers which I use for my PC speakers in conjunction with a Marantz integrated amp. I listen to quite a variety of music ranging from classical to Daft Punk and it is at home with every thing I have thrown at it.
