- e***e (1939)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseVery nice! My father was captain of this ship during WW11 after US Army commandeered it and transformed it into a repair ship for use in Western South Pacific. It was the FIRST US ship to enter Manila harbor after the surrender of Japanese forces. The USAMRS W. J.Connors was crewed by US Army officers and Coast Guard enlisted crew. After the war the Connors was returned to original civilian ownership in 1947.
