      New muffler fits well, no quieter than old muffler

      The muffler was a perfect replacement for the original muffler. BUT it would have been helpful if there were some instructions noting that the mounting holes were not threaded and you need to use the original bolts to cut the threads in the mounting holes. I figured it out after a while, but some kind of note would have been helpful. The reason I bought the new muffler was that my family complained that the mower was noisy. The old muffler had no visible holes or damage, and the replacement muffler was no quieter. So, overall, I'm not thrilled that I wasted an hour and some money to end up with no real benefit. That's not the fault of the muffler or its manufacturer, but just make sure your old muffler has a hole in it before thinking that a new muffler is going to quiet your engine.

      GREAT FIT !

      Bought this to go on my Craftsman DTG 6000. The mounting plate holes on the muffler are not threaded but your stock self tapping bolts should work just fine. Took less than 10 minutes to install and now I am running much quieter than before.

      Fits perfect

      It fit perfect but is just as loud as the 15 year old one i took off. I guess i don't know what low tone means. If you have the Craftsman bumper the hot exhaust will burn the paint off in time. Was hoping the exhaust exit design was changed.
