    A case designed by Canon to hold an 18-55mm lens.

    It is a good idea to cover a lens to protect it when not in use. Use lens caps on both ends and a pouch like this one, to protect it from accidental scratches and soils. It is also a good idea to further protect your lens with an additional padded case like a "Canon Deluxe Backpack 200 EG", or a "Canon Deluxe 10EG Bag". This Canon LP814 case will not sustain a lens from a considerable fall, nor is it waterproof. This case has a thin foam pad it sits on and is constructed of imitation suede and imitation full grain leather materials. Also Known As "Pleather". (Naturally you would not want a genuine leather case since leather has oils that could damage sensitive photography gear.)
