About this product
Product Information
You can feel the chill of fear slither down your spine when confronted by ghoulish monsters in "Nightmare Creatures" for Nintendo 64. This game can let you find out if you have what it takes to clear the streets of London of hellish, murderous mutants. In this Gothic adventure horror game set in 1834, you can take to the streets to fight for your life and your city against the forces of dark magic intent on taking over the world. You can pull out your N64 and play this vintage game for a dark yet spellbinding adventure into the world of occultism, magic, demons, zombies, and the powers of Light that may or may not prevail. You can turn on "Nightmare Creatures" to discover that Adam Crowley, a mad scientist, master alchemist, and leader of The Brotherhood of Hecate, has unleashed a terrifying virus on 19th century London. Originally invented by the Brotherhood in the accursed year of 1666, the virus was meant to imbue superhuman powers on its recipients. Although they intended to create a superior human race, their experiments went awry, and the people who took it began transforming into terrible beasts instead. Hoping to keep their discovery from being used for evil, one of the Brotherhood's members set fire to their headquarters, simultaneously destroying their research and igniting the First Great Fire of London. Centuries later, that same arsonist's hidden journal was discovered by Adam Crowley. He uses its secrets to take control of the Brotherhood of Hecate and recreate their original experiments, hoping to take over the city, and later the world, with his army of monsters. You can fight your way through London in the Nintendo 64 rendition of "Nightmare Creatures" as the victims of the spreading pathogen are being transformed into monsters throughout the city. It's up to occult traditions expert Father Ignatius Blackward and young swordsman Nadia Franciscus to stop the spread of this evil disease. Dark and Gothic, the scene is set in this single player game as these two playable characters brawl through each level of monsters. Once informed of Crowley's macabre plan, they set out to find and stop him before London succumbs to these Nightmare Creatures. You can battle against increasingly tougher beasts as your opponents range from traditional demons and werewolves to hideous mutants and the living dead. This N64 game features 15 different types of monsters and 5 gruesome bosses, including a four headed fire breathing serpent and the dark sorcerer Crowley himself. Begin your quest with a staff or sword as your primary weapon. You can later upgrade these for more effective weapons as well as pick up and use secondary weapons like firebombs and spells. This Nintendo 64 version of "Nightmare Creatures" is prized for its added features and smoother gameplay. It gives NES enthusiasts the ability to stop the game's adrenaline meter for a less intense game as well as supports use of the Rumble Pak. The character control on the N64 is also more fluid, especially with the use of its analog controller. If you love horror games, then you can spend some time in the dark, spooky world of "Nightmare Creatures" for N64.
