      This was a product of the time and the writing gives you a sense of this. You should remember this when reading it and place it in the context of it's time. It is a window into that time and the events. It is about the beginning of the 90th Aero Squadron and their combat experiences. The 90th is still and active unit today and is based at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska flying the F-22 Raptor. They just celebrated the squadron's 100th anniversary this past August. The advanced technology F-22 is appropriate as their most used aircraft in WWI was the Salmson 2a2 which was an advanced aircraft for it's time. It had electric start so the pilot would start the engine by pressing a button, it had an engine driven generator plus two wind driven generators, some of the aircraft ...
