      Very Compact CZ43 USB 3.0 Memory Stick

      This device seems to work well and is moderately fast ... however it does get surprisingly hot after even moderate use with modest downloads. I have not noticed this increase in temperature with other brands and wonder if the heat generated in this small device will eventually shorten the life of the electronics? Otherwise it is good comparable value and so far still working.

      Awful write speeds and overheats

      Advertised as 150MB/sec but only writes at 20MB/sec (reads at about 125MB/sec for the record.) If you write continuously for more than 10 minutes it gets so hot you can't touch it, and then the firmware resets! When this happens the logs show it as having been unplugged then 100 milliseconds later being plugged in again. This means you can't copy any large files onto the device because doing so takes so long that it overheats, resets, then the copy operation fails because you "unplugged the device" before the copy operation finished. Really poor effort on the part of SanDisk, advertising it as 150MB/sec when it can barely write at 20MB/sec, and being a waste at 128GB when it's not actually possible to copy files onto it larger than 1-2GB each. Not to mention the need to carry an oven ...

      A Feasible Alternate for Memory Expansion

      The physical USB interface has become the limiting factor with regard to size, as memory modules are miniaturized. This device is small enough to leave “permanently” installed in your laptop/pc and at 64GB plus USB 3.0 speed (if you’ve got the port) it is a feasible alternate to internal memory expansion (certainly cheaper per GB than SSD’s at this time).

      great little usb protector thumb drive .

      This could be used as a protector for you usb port to stop things getting stuck in it , the bonus being it can store data . Being san disk it lives up to the company"s reputation of reliable good quality products .
