I have not used this lens yet but I read as much as I could about it and have seen photos taken with this lens, which convinced me to purchase the lens. Rodenstock makes very good lenses that are very sharp. The 210mm can be considered a normal focal length for 4x5 format and has good film coverage to allow adequate camera movements for most photographic requirements. The lens is multi-coated. Current Rodenstock lenses, made with ED glass, are considered somewhat sharper and allow more camera movement but cost several times more than a used APO-Sironar-N. A used Sironar-N multi-coated lens is a fine lens at a bargain price.
Utterly perfect lens with razor sharpness. The focal length is great for portraits, just make sure you've got a long enough rail for any closeup work. Anyone who is interested in large format photography should look into picking one of these lenses up.
