Review of Jung SD300 Amplifier - No boo

I am using Jung SD300 Amplifier modules on a pair of DIY vented subs using MTX 10" subwoofers. Mounting the amplifiers by cutting suitable holes in the enclosures were a cinch. It would have been nice to include some black mounting screws with the kit. I Mounted some damping material in front of each module to absorb vibrations. I am using the subs in a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos setup using a Onkyo TX-NR 747 receiver. My bedroom has KEF C100 mains, center and rear surrounds, brilliant clear sound. Using KEF Ci200R in-ceiling speakers for Atmos. The subs are in the front of the room about 2.5m apart. One sub is driven via the receiver, and the second sub is driven via the pre-out from the first Jung SD300 amplifier, this is a great feature to have. The subs integrated very well via the Onkyo ...

  • great little amp

Bought two, one to run a 10' sub hidden in a bookshelf and the other to run 4 bass engines in the floor. They are remote mounted in a cabinet down stairs with the main amps, receiver, HDMI mixer and the stbs for the tv. So the auto on feature is very handy. The analogue adjustments are nice and easy to quickly set vs fiddling with a digital adjustment. Good power and they don't seem to run hot at all. Would buy again when the time comes.

  • So far so good

Driving four high efficiency 15" Celestion woofers, sounds good out of the box, still dialing it in. Jury is still out on its longevity; I bought a Yung 500 watt plate amp years ago. While not in use, its on light powered up, then off, and it never made a sound again. About 3 days after its warranty ended. We'll wait and see on this one. Post script- It's making intermittent crackling noises, despite using the same cables as before, with a different amp. And with a Jensen line isolator. And different cables. And an active line XLR to RCA converter. Frustrating, since when the added noise is not there, it's a great sounding unit.

  • Just what I needed

I have an old Acoustic Research 15" Sub, but the original 200W amp refused to wake up one day. I had found a repair service for $150. I was inclined until I saw this unbelievable $115 value. I did a bit of custom carpentry to make this fit with the OEM look still intact. It takes this cone and box so very low for great home theater watching as well as crushing the house with some music. Very solid construction. No nonsense operation. I'd take a chance on other Yung products.

  • Resurrected my subwoofer

Replaced a bad Polk 505 amp with this. Works well. Had to make a simple wooden gasket to fit this into the larger hole form the Polk amp. With that, this appears to be a good replacement for much less.
